Admission to the Noble Corps of the Ancient Kingdom of Seville is a process governed by historical statutes and the principles of honor, lineage, and service. Prospective members must demonstrate a direct connection to the noble estates of the Spanish kingdoms and a personal conduct that aligns with the chivalric virtues of our institution.

Proof of Nobility

The core requirement for membership is the formal "Prueba de Nobleza" (Proof of Nobility). Applicants must submit a comprehensive genealogical record proving their hidalgo status or noble descent through the following criteria:

  • Paternal Lineage: Undisputed evidence of nobility through the paternal line, traditionally verified by historical records, military orders, or recognized titles of the Kingdom.
  • Heraldic Legitimacy: Validated use of family coats of arms and registration in official nobiliary census or historical archives.
  • Clean Blood Statutes: Verification of an ancestral history of honor and integrity, free from any acts deemed incompatible with the noble estate.

Personal and Moral Standing

Beyond lineage, the Council of Nobles evaluates the personal merit of each applicant. Membership requires a steadfast commitment to the Catholic faith, loyalty to the Spanish Monarchy, and a willingness to participate actively in the Corps' charitable and cultural missions. A "clean record" of social and professional conduct is an absolute prerequisite.

The Application Process

1. Sponsorship

Candidates must be formally introduced by two current Knights or Dames of the Corps.

2. Documentation

Submission of birth certificates, marriage records, and certified genealogical trees.

3. Approval

The Council of Nobles and the Fiscal review the evidence before final validation.

Final Investiture

Upon approval, the new member is formally knighted or received in a solemn ceremony, typically held at the Cathedral of Seville or a designated historical chapel. During this act, the candidate swears an oath of loyalty and receives the insignia and mantle of the Noble Corps.
